Belize's Economy and the Covid-19 Pandemic


The economic impact of Covid-19 has been felt throughout the country, communities and at an individual level. The country was already experiencing an economic slowdown in 2019; 2020 was expected to be a year of recovery. As experts tell us, no one could have foreseen what was coming.  To contain the rapid spread of the pandemic, governments around the world have had to prioritize health and put the economy on the back burner.
